About Me

My name is Subha Ali. I recently graduated with a bachelor’s in journalism from the University of Washington. My interest began in fashion journalism, and while I still have an interest in fashion, through my education and working for a magazine based in Washington, D.C. I have discovered an interest in cultural topics, specifically minority groups in the U.S. I am also bilingual; I speak Urdu and English, and I am an immigrant, which has helped me bring color into my work around cultural topics. Through my education and internship, I have written stories on brands, news, and cultural issues. I hope to be able to continue building on my interests.

Growing up my father used to go on a lot of business trips to Europe, through those trips I got exposed to European fashion and I was fascinated. Since I was a child fashion has enticed me, you get to express yourself in your own way through the clothes you wear. I have felt the same way with writing, you are able to express yourself through words and share your thoughts and report on the world around you.
